  • Japanese music and martial arts in the Royal Theatre

    The ‘Gagaku and Budo’ show of Japanese court music and martial arts was held on 7 February 2017 in the Royal Theatre. The event was organised by the Meiji Jingu shrine from Tokyo. Watch the photo coverage.

  • New exhibits added to the Golden Collection of Coins in the Royal Łazienki Museum

    The Golden Collection of Coins in the Royal Łazienki has been enriched by new exhibits. The Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland deposited three coins with images of Polish kings in the Museum.

  • Royal bedchamber renovated. See how Stanisław August slept

    Visitors to the Palace on the Isle can now see the royal bedchamber, which as a result of revitalization resembles the one from the times of Stanisław August. Now, we can admire historical furniture that was refurbished with highest care, including the ruler’s canopy bed and richly adorned silk wall panels.

  • Marionette Theatre. "La serva padrona" opera

    Visitors are invited to a special performance – "La serva padrona" (Servant Turned Mistress), which will be shown in the Royal Theatre as a marionette opera. Almost one metre tall marionettes will "act" – brought to life with the hands of animators and voices of outstanding soloists.

    Tadeusz Zielniewicz, Director of the Royal Łazienki Museum, was honoured with the ‘Visionaries of the 21st Century’ prize awarded by the ‘Wprost’ weekly. The prize-giving gala was held on 7 December 2016 in the Old Orangery.

  • Flemish painting art in the Palace on the Isle. See the famous painting by Coques

    From July until 4 December, the 17th century work of art showing an interior of a gallery of paintings by Gonzales Coques and unidentified Antwerp artists will be displayed in the Palace on the Isle. It is the most interesting example of a specific genre of painting art - gallery paintings.

  • The Royal Łazienki winning a prize in the "Warsaw without Barriers" competition

    The Old Orangery adapted to the needs of people with disabilities - is a project for which the Royal Łazienki received a prize in the "Warsaw without Barriers" competition organised by the Friends of Integration Association. The distinction was awarded during the Great Gala of Integration, which was held on 19 November 2016 in the Ursynów Arena.

  • Admission Free November in the Royal Łazienki. Free visits throughout the month

    From 2 to 30 November 2016, visitors to the Royal Łazienki will be able to explore free of charge precious monuments and beautiful art collections from the times of the last King of Poland – Stanisław August. As part of the Admission Free November campaign, visitors are also invited to the Long Night of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery, and to attend museum lessons.

  • Long Night of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery

    On each Saturday of November – from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – visitors are invited to the Long Night of the Palace on the Isle and the Old Orangery with the Royal Theatre. We recommend it to all those who would like to see beautifully illuminated interiors, and learn about the history of Stanisław August’s collections of paintings and sculptures – recounted by our educators.

    One of the most famous and exclusive royal dinner sets, Flora Danica, will be displayed in the Palace on the Isle in August. The exhibition of porcelain is a result of cooperation between the Royal Łazienki Museum and the Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød (Denmark).

  • Norway and EEA funds for culture. Conference in the Old Orangery

    The Polish culture has been granted over 192 million euros from the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. These funds have made possible the execution of numerous projects, including the reconstruction and conservation of valuable monuments. To summarise this European contribution, a conference was held on 27 September 2016 in the Royal Theatre of the Old Orangery.

  • A newly hatched peacock in the Royal Łazienki. For the first time in a few years

    The Royal Łazienki has had a new resident. It is a peacock which hatched from an egg in natural habitat in mid-August. The young bird is healthy and has a good appetite. It enjoys eating boiled eggs and potatoes.

  • 12 maja 1670 roku urodził się August II Mocny - król Polski, elektor Saksonii i… rekordzista Europy w łamaniu podków gołymi rękami (tak przynajmniej twierdził jego dwór!). Jego zamiłowanie do siły, przepychu i sztuki zapisało się w historii Rzeczypospolitej na wiele sposobów. Choć Łazienki Królewskie powstały dopiero za czasów Stanisława Augusta, to właśnie August II rozbudził w Warszawie modę na wspaniałe rezydencje, ogrody i kolekcje sztuki, które miały dorównywać największym dworom Europy. To on sprowadzał do Polski artystów z Drezna i Włoch, a jego wystawny styl życia stworzył kontekst dla późniejszego "królewskiego ogrodu filozofa".
